BATTERY RECORDS SIGNS ATLANTA RAPPER DIAMOND

NEW YORK, NY, June 8, 2010 - Battery Records has signed Atlanta-based rapper, Diamond. The label will ship her debut solo single "Lotta Money," produced by Recka on the Beat, to radio stations in July.

Diamond entered the music business at 14 years of age and rose to notoriety as one fifth of the platinum selling group Crime Mob. Now a solo artist, the 21-year-old has since proven that she can stand on her own and has released several well-received mix-tapes and collaborated with various top tier artists including Ludacris on the "My Chick Bad" remix, Keri Hilson and Cee-Lo.

Neil Levine, GM and Senior Vice President of Battery Records, states "We welcome Diamond to the Battery family. Her ability to constantly evolve makes her an exciting and remarkable artist that has proven that she can shine as a solo artist. We look forward to introducing Diamond and her new single 'Lotta Money' to the world."

Jeff Sledge, Vice President of A&R for Battery Records adds "I'm very excited about working with Diamond. She is an extremely talented young artist with the experience and vision of a veteran. We're going to make great music together."

Diamond adds "I'm very excited about joining the Battery/Jive family and know we are going to make a lot of great music together. This move will definitely provide the platform for me to continue making great music for my fans, and to continue repping for the females!

In 2007 Diamond parted ways with Crime Mob ("Knuck If You Buck") to pursue a solo career amidst controversy and naysayers. She used this pressure as fuel and motivation to release the first installment of her mixtape series "Bitch Muzik." Because of street demand she quickly followed up with the second project in the series, "Bitch Muzik Vol. 2." This year Diamond released "Pardon My Swagg (P.M.S.)" hosted by DJ Smallz.

Diamond is currently at work on her solo album.
